Role Overview: Apprentice Hardware Engineer

We are looking for 2 apprentices who have a passion for technology to join our Service team and start their career with Sharp.

You’ll get fantastic training and will learn how to install and repair our products so you’ll need to be technically minded and enjoying making things work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fixing, maintenance and repair of photocopier devices.
  • Preparing machines for customers at the Swanley workshop
  • Installing photocopiers at customer sites
  • To ensure customers receive a satisfactory service in line with agreed service level agreements.
  • Looking after stocks of parts and toner.
  • Providing telephone support to customers as required
  • Travelling to customers sites, possibly all over the UK
Skills required:
  • A strong interest and understanding of electrical /mechanical devices
  • GCSE grade A*- C in  English, Maths and ICT
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A full UK driving licence would be an advantage but not essential for first 18 months of employment. Successful applicants will have to start learning to drive or be driving by the end of the apprenticeship

  • Has the ability and drive to learn, work hard and complete the challenging employer led apprenticeship. 
  • Personable, able to communicate clearly, fluently and concisely
  • Someone who can work individually and as part of a team
  • Have a long term aspiration to join a successful company and be part of the technical team 
  • Have a williness to learn
  • Ability to manage course work and a job
  • Initial progression to Trainee Customer Support Engineer, moving on to Customer Support Engineer and in the long term Senior Customer Support Engineer. 
  • Potential to move into supervisory and managerial roles.
  • Be a part of a growing innovative company
  • Gain a respected profession transferable across many areas
