Printer Helpdesk Trainee

Great first step career opportunity to join Sharp’s technical helpdesk team based in Stockport.
You will help to provide support for our MFPs (Multi-Function Printers) including networking, connectivity and dealing with end user support requests via telephone and remote access
This role could suit an ICT A Level or IT NVQ leaver looking to start a career in IT Technical Support however all applications will be considered

Key Responsibilities:
Working as part of the helpdesk team to provide end user support around MFP connectivity issues via telephone and remote access.
Utilising our Field Service Management (FSM) application efficiently making sure tickets are always up to date and correct processes are followed
Liaising with Tier 3 Support where call involves solutions, following correct procedures in transferring call across.
Organising and managing time effectively on the helpdesk and when dealing with customer calls.
Liaising with Sharp sales staff if an MFP needs additional keys, licenses or parts.
Accessing software updates, drivers, knowledge bases and GAQ resources on the internet/Intranet to aid in problem resolution.
Creating and updating user guides on MFPs as required
Ensuring that a professional, customer focused approach is followed at all times
Being  open to learning new skills which could include Visual Solutions or IT solutions in the future

Person Specification:
  • Good understanding of IT and technology in general
  • Demonstrable technical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to interact, face to face or by telephone, with customers and field-based technicians
  • Patient and professional phone manner
  • An enthusiastic and positive approach -  committed to maintaining a high-level service
  • Capable of building relationships with customers, call control and sales
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills on both technical and non-technical issues
  • Very customer orientated
  • Well organised with ability to plan and organise self-effectively 
  • Great team Player
